Hi Folks,

We have two deck speakers approx 150 mm overall dia with approx 110 mm plastic grills which are degrading due to uv.The name on the speakers is Sound Marine. The speakers work perfectly but we would like to replace the grills. Can anyone advise if it is possible to obtain spare grills and where they may be purchased. It would be a shame to have to replace two functioning speakers.

Many thanks

Rob

I think some makes do supply spare grilles but they're nearly as expensive as a new speaker. I replaced our VHF cockpit speaker because of UV and careless feet - it wasn't worth trying to replace only the grille.

Just replaced two 6"/146mm cockpit speakers - none that size in stock locally, new from mail order chandlers £60-£80, from Ebay £19 the pair, new and boxed. Originals had bashed in grilles, and once the grille had gone the speaker cones are fragile.
