Got to sort ot some deck seams and looking for the best mastic. I have used both sikaflex and purflex before, seamed ok (pun intended)
Problem is that I have to do it when it is still very cold and I do find both products hard work on the hands!! as they are very stiff. I have ( and will) use the hot water trick but that is a bit of a fiddle.
I used a bedding compound from Tek Deck ( forgotten the name but it was from Bostick) this seemed to flow more easilly.
So... what do the panel recommend? has anyone used a good product for applying below 10 degrees.
Last but not least where are the best prices these days.
Around £10 with postage on Ebay ( and in date!!)
Thanks as ever.

If you are using the 600 ml sausages, and you should because they cost a lot less per ml, then try rolling the sausage just prior to use.

I go through about 40 sausages of FC11 a month, FC = Fast Cure.

Avagoodweekend......

You can hire a gun, the cost of 600ml sausage is about the same as a 350ml throw away tube.

Because we have an arrangement with the Sikaflex distributors in Oz we get our sika products for less than retailers, mind you we use an awful lot.

Get hold of the Bostik stuff! No solvents, UV stable and miniscule shrinkage, and you only need primers for glazing or porous decking. Oh- and did I mention that there's no Carbon-black in it si it stays "black" and doesn't bleed black stuff onto paint/varnish/GRP? And you use Acetone, which works a treat with the stuff, as a primer/beading aid. The Tek-Dek stuff is one product in a number of different guises, and it LASTS in the tube when opened.
PM me if you want some dope on the stuff!
