deck painting

Anyone got any recommendations for (necessarily cheap!) deck paint to cover a cloth sheathed pitch pine deck? I have looked at a couple of rubbery type paints that will coat my newly sealed deck, but the cheapest comes out at over £100 to cover 8 sq m! I really want a classic light blue colour (she's a 1936 motor yacht). Should I just buy coo var non-slip and reconcile myself to re-coating every six months or does anyone have any better ideas? Having just replaced a couple of planks that had rotted due to weeping from the deck I'm not keen to have to repeat the process in the near future! Thanks in advance.

If I have this right, you have just re-sheathed the deck with canvas?

In that case, use any old paint to saturate the canvas, and finish with two coats of a chlorinated rubber deck paint - Blakes make a "Biscay" colour which is actually a soft slightly greenish-grey blue which is what I use and I like it.

There is no need to use good paint for the first couple of coats - any left overs will do.
