Ahoy all,
My 45lb Danforth Plow anchor is too big to fit on my roller. I have it
secured now (mind you on the side with no roller so getting it up,
what with my windlass being dead is quite a challenge) But it chafes
on my sprit ribs. Nothing structural and not gonna break anything but
the only other option is to hang it lower so it bangs on the
trailboards ruining them or hook it on the bobstay. I dont like the
idea of it heaving up and down sawing on my nice new bobstay in the
open ocean.
I have seen deck brackets for mounting CQR type anchors but I cant
find any online? Anyone know of these devices and where to get them?
For the river I am going to get a big Danforth Fluke anchor and mount
it to the pulpit but since I am going to Barkley in a few weeks, I
want to try and investigate options for better securing the anchor I
will use in the challenging anchorages of Barkley Sound. I still only
have 90' of chain but I have lotsa rode.
Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated.
