The decks on my Moody - GRP with moulded non-slip finish - have got soiled in places with oil which won't come out with a hard scrub and detergent. Even a presure washer had little effect- except to create variations in the colour of the deck. Also when sailing across Biscay a fine red dust was deposited which stuck like the provebial and some still remains after 10 years!

Any ideas how get the decks clean again much appreciated

Am down to the boat tomorrow doing the same job before launching Sat I am going to try oxalic acid as it has done a good job on the waterline staining with no scrubing at all. I got it from chemist in crystal form and dilute it as required.

Ps it is VERY poisonous and quite strong so wear gloves wrinse after use.

good luck

Had Same problem with my Moody. Used a product called Wipe Out. It's powder, you wet the decks, sprinkle on the powder and rub in with a brush. Leave for 15 minutes and hose off, and all the ingrained muck disappears. Only place I've found that sell it is Ocean Leisure next to Embankment tube station.
