In the December issue of YM we test the Nordship 430DS

There are also our 360º images of every cabin onboard

And a gallery of extra images that we couldn't get into the magazine

Very nice, I'm sure.
But it looked/felt more like an advert than a review.
Could have done with more footage of the actual sailing rather than have Chris talk about it.

If these reviews are meant as adverts:
1. Do you do them for used boats as well?
2. I happen to know of a used well equipped boat of a little known brand which would make for interesting viewing. :o:p;)

I asked, in this thread, and was informed:

The fact is the Allures is a great boat. If that comes across in the video then good. It would be worse if it was a great boat and it came across as a dog.

YM don't get paid for doing any of the boat test tests, videos, 360s etc. manufactures are free to link to the videos and 360s if the want to.

It shouldn't feel like an advert, and it's not intended to be one, Chris speaks as he finds, if it's good he'll tell it, if not you'll see that as well (water in the lockers of the Dufour 36, battery charger under a bunk on the Hanse 325 etc.)

Sadly the usable footage from that day was a bit little thin on the ground, the swell from the previous day made taking photographs, let alone video quite challenging. My priority is always getting the photographs for the magazine, and sometimes that comes at the expense of the video footage.

We only do these for new boats at the moment, mainly because of the time and effort that goes into filming and the production of these things. This one came in at over 15 mins and the sailing footage has to relate to what Chris is talking about.

I'm working on the next video at the moment so I'll try to get more sailing footage in that one :)

All reviews veer that way rather than the other, since this:

It does look like a very good boat though (as it should be for £1/2m).

Good review of an excellent boat........

You are comparing the quality of this boat with something like a Rustler 44, which is similar money! If you cant afford it boys, go and buy a cheaper boat...........

If you can afford it, go and try both. They are both fantastic sailing cruisers.

I'm all for the video reviews, CB is pretty comprehensive and seems balanced. Keep up with the new boat reviews too, it great to see the new shiny toys.
