Have just been looking in this months MBY and have seen a Princess advertised by a broker and listed in its inventory is said Decca Navigator.

You would have thought any self respecting broker might just know what current position is (pun intended!) with the decca system.

Anybody else spotted useless kit advertised as part of inventory?

MBY page 14, there's a frigate that someone wants to sink in Plymouth so that Haydn can run agorund on it or something, but looking at the piccie I'm sure it's still got the big guns on the front.

Now those guns are not going to be much use when it's sitting on the bottom so perhaps we can get one of them mounted on Mekathara and H can use it to clear the raggies out of the way.

You just leave those guns alone, I want to see them when I dive on the wreck (the Scylla that is, not Haydn's boat).

I just hope they leave lots of other goodies on it, plenty of waterproof electronic bits preferably).

Now excuse my ignorance here LJS, but if you want to see the guns and stuff why don't you just go and have a look BEFORE they sink it? Got to be more useful with the ship on top of the water. What's the point of waiting till it's sunk before you have a look at it?

A bit like plane spotters really. Why spend hours with huge great telescopic lenses, taking pictures of little dots in the sky, when they could wait till it lands and then take a damn good piccie? Or people who are on your boat when you're 3 miles out at sea and take pictures of the town you're aiming for. What's the point? Wait five minutes and we'll be there and you can get a good piccie.

Got me beat, but no doubt you'll explain.

Coliholic - admit it you ditch crawler, you've never seen your moorings / town from three miles away, unless it was from the top of a hill! Surely the first time you see the moorings in a strange town, or even the town itself is when you come round the last bend.

As for leaving the guns - not a problem, stick some old telegraph poles into the slots and we can still use the guns to get the wind up the ragie fleet. Now how am I going to mount them...

Well yes I see where you're coming from, but to see these guns on the surface is nothing like seeing them underwater with coral growing on them, fish swimming around them and crabs and lobsters (yum yum!) living in them.

Ooh well in my many X Channel journey's it's amazing what you see at a distance, but then of course you've only seen the Dungeness Soup and the side of the boat ;-).

Re mounting the guns, could they fit where the steering ram was? Or do you want other suggestions as to where you can put them? ;-)
