Further to the posts on here, the BBC and ITV have announced tonight the names of the 2 men found in the Deben on Sunday.
I understand from relatives that the bodies have been formally identified, and I am sure everyone on here who knew Michael Palmer or Mick Hall will want to express their condolences and sheer amazement that two highly experienced old salts should have been lost to the sea in this way.
Michael and Mick had been sailing together on the Deben and offshore for more than 30 years, and Mick was an RYA instructor.
Knowing them both well, I do not beleive that they would have been taking any risks, and find it hard to understand how this could have happened. Details are not yet known, but I assume will come out in the following months.
Our thoughts are with their families at this time.
