Deben Entrance, buoys now re-positioned for 2022.

It looks like if what I think is there track that they tried for the north channel and realised the error and tried to get back into the buoyed channel but started to go aground.

If that is right then they might have been better sticking with the north channel.

I wonder how many of us have been watching her AIS position? There is negligible tidal surge right now versus about +0.25m this morning so was beginning to wonder whether they would get off.

Happened to be at the Ferry this afternoon with the drone, flying for somebody else.

It's a timely reminder to avoid that knoll spit which is covered before and after HW, and keep closer to the sea wall.

Yes a SH buoy would be helpful there and I believe it has been requested, but maybe we just won't get one.

Since we only visit the Deben once or twice per year these days, in the absence of a SH buoy, we have a waypoint in our plotter where the buoy should be.

Peter.
