New buoy positions now available in the News section on ECP website. Please note that these are the intended positions, the buoys are not necessarily there yet! I'll let you know when the chartlets are available, this will take a few more days.

Two new bouys have appeared in the Deben today, at the top of the moorings (near Falkenham), I don't remember them being there previously?

Up today on the Trinity House web site. I don't want to interfere with the drawing of chartlets which is done by others, but these are the positions.

Darn it, we were all set to go up to Lowestoft to explore a bit of the Broads, now Butley Creek is possible I'm not so sure.
You might want to talk to the HM, John White, if you plan to go to the Ore before our chartlet is published (which I hope will be before Easter). I was talking to him this morning, and he was using phrases like 'very difficult this year'

When you say Deben buoy on your ECP update you are referring to what I have as West Knoll I presume? I am trying to update chart plotter and have lost Deben Haven, is that in last years position?
Could you also please verify that the red is called Mid Knoll.
Ps. I cant see how Ore entrance can be any more tricky than usual, looks like a straight line and hopefully deeper. Two deep draft yachts up to Slaughden on tide today, never got to talk but I wouldn't be put off until first hand info. Many thanks for your info, extremely useful.
BTW Channel 84 report at 1410 this afternoon, she stated that Orford Haven Buoy had been repositioned to the entrance to the Deben, ehh? Simple mistake I picked up on.

Thanks
I'm hoping to get up to Woodbridge Tide Mill in July - 1st time
Boat is 414.20m W/L length 1.4m draft
Any hints from "the experienced one" would be appreciated

Deben buoy is the Deben buoy! It's the PHB off Felixstowe Ferry SC. There is no buoy called Deben Haven.
Mid Knoll is a starboard-hand buoy, most certainly not red.
Our wording was exactly as cut and pasted from a Trinity House communication. They did indeed refer to the Mid Knoll as 'Knoll Mid'.
Re the Ore entrance, let's wait to see the depths, of which neither you nor we have any idea. Looking at the positions I don't see where you get a straight line from.

We merrily set off for Lowestoft but 20 minutes ago rang the lock/bridge control - it's bust and opens once on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only. So now we're a bit stuck, low water is 5.10 and I don't fancy the Ore at less than LW+3 so I think we'll have a nice sail down there, anchor and wait until just before 8pm.

That's unfortunate.
We normally get the NtMs from Lowestoft and put them up on the website if they are relevant, but I don't recall that one at all.

Now trying to decide if we like the Ore or Deben entrance more at LW+2 ish. It's a very pleasant sail back along the coast, just opposite Aldeburgh.
