Have found myself in the position of many boat owners(probably)! Bought new boat last September, want to upgrade. Have finance in place for approx 210K. Can't do it unless trade-in. Not loads of dealers in Glasgow area. Just short for anything new. Scoured net for dealers for trade- ins. Any advice.

lucas, I suspect it might be tricky to get a reasonable trade in value for a Cruisers boat, not because it is'nt a good boat but because it will be an unknown quantity to most dealers. Your best option IMHO is to try to trade it with the supplying dealer (Prossers?). I believe they were Sealine dealers (now Fairline) and they might do you a deal on one of their remaining stock Sealines
Alternatively you could try advertising it through a broker or privately on the basis that there's little point in saddling yourself with finance on a new boat over the winter when you can hardly use it and hope that you can sell the old boat at a reasonable price and put yourself in a better negotiating position on a new boat

The market does seem to be very slow at the moment, lots of used boats not selling! Advice here is good, take your time, try and get the price you want in the spring and then think about your new boat. Trade in deals are often not as good as you would want for your boat.

Best of luck

Barry
