Morning all

I've finally got my AQ151A (250) running, thanks for the help along the way. All my gauges work, ie temp, oil pressure, volt except the RPM gauge. Its a volvo penta one, black face with cream back. There are 3 cable spades, -, + and 1. According to the wiring diagram purple goes on +, black goes on the 1 (GND) and grey on the - (S). I have tried different combinations but neither work, it still stays dead.

I've checked the coil and 2 wires, purple on the + and grey on the -.

Any ideas or should I try and get a replacement ?

Cheers

Stu

I don't think you have to have a VP tach meter...unless you want one.

I've got a standard boat rev counter on my AQ115 which works fine.

How long has the meter been sitting there? It does sound as though it's time to get a new one.

I must admit I did this job a couple of months back but for the life of me I can't remember what went where, I can look next week for you if you haven't heard anything before then. Drop me a PM if you one me to confirm ...

I think...and this is a think....you have +ve from the ignition switch..-ve goes you know where and the S is from the -'ve of the coil....but that's from memory so I'm not 100% sure...
