I am going on the Shorebased Instructors course in a week's time and have just had all the information through.

Looking at the Day Skipper Handbook I noticed what appears to be an error on Page 4! Diagram of yacht with bits labelled - at back there is a flag with the label 'national flag'.

Excuse me? If I am thinking correctly the national flag for the UK is the Union Flag? If the RYA can't get it right what hope is there for a newcomer to sailing.

So makes me wonder what else in the books in wrong!

The instruction material is designed for many nationalities surely? It just so happens that we have an odd system here.......

The national flag for boats. They have it right.
