Day Skipper theory papers??

I'm all for sailing to somewhere, anchoring, running up the beach and asking where we are, but my wife is now on the Day Skippper course as she thinks that's best!

Anyway she now realises she has a test tomorrow but they aren't being given any practice test papers, so l was wondering if any of you fine folk have any passed papers you can scan and send to me? I don't need any answers but just an idea of what sort of questions she might get so l can go through them with her when she gets home tonight. Big ask l know but knowing how amazing you all are.......

Tell your wife not to worry, they aren't out to get you and the test is pretty fair. If you have grasped the lessons then they don't pull anything new out of the bag, everything in the test will be similar to the stuff they did in the class room..

Well i havnt dont mine yet! but ive been getting the wink wink nudge nudge that they will be fairly simaler to the harder questions at the back of the excersize booklet, an apparelty their are always questions on identification and uses of knots, my advice would be to crib through the a5 booklet asap, oh and lastly, i was told befor i started the course that what they realy want to see is a good pasige plan. Accuracy to 0.1 M and 0.1 NM. Hope she does well, dont let her think shes in charge too often! Matt

tell her not to worry. The RYA instructions are that every candidate who does the work and attends the course should pass the tests unless (and its very rare) they have been told beforehand. In all the courses I've done I've maybe failed five people - four for not turning up, and one who, if eveyone else was digital she was analog. Different planet altogether. In line with this policy, there is no pass mark as such.

I've got some old papers though I believe they have altered the papers this year so mine wont be the same style. nevertheless, if you want to have a look pm me and I will scan one. Will have to be tonight though - off sailing tomorrow.
