Day skipper course by \"Tiller\" ?

I am about to embark upon a distance learning course for my Day Skipper and two schools are of interest.
The first is Tiller, who do a DS course and seem good, the other is Chichester Maritime, who do a combined DS and yacht Master course.

I know forum members have had good experiences with Chichester, but what of Tiller?

Is the combined Chichester course worth it?

Both schools provide samples or demos of their teaching materials on the web, pick the one where the style suits you best.

There is a fair amount of overlap between Day Skipper and YM, but to do YM you will need to develop good skills in chartwork - things like triangle of velocities for Course to Steer.

The YM chartwork assessment needs a lot of practice if it is all new to you.

If you are comfortable with those concepts already and good with numbers, the rest of the course content is largely memory work. If you have a few years boating experience the combined course should be OK

I did YM through tiller. I found the materials a little hard to fathom at times and needed to resort to email and phoning the assigned 'lecturer' once or twice. In the end though I was very well prepared for the exams when I wrote them and cracked very high marks.
