I have a week of sailing around Alicante on the horizon. I have no experience of the area but I am sure the owner will give me some tips before I set off. Just in case though where can I find some good spots for lunches at anchor and the odd night away. All advice appreciated ;-)

a few folk go just across the bay (North) for lunch and a swim.
Tabarca Island has some interest and is OK for overnight stays.
Formentera/Ibiza is about 90 miles but you could break journey at Moraira

You could port hop going north; easy going up as far as Denia; different ports up and others going back down. Also some bays if you fancy dropping the hook overnight: eg Javea bay or El Portet (adjacent to Moraira).

Some marinas, eg: Calpe; pop in, use the Club Nautico for lunch for a couple of hours and no marina charge.

Keep an eye open for Sunfish, at first glance it looks like a turtle flipper gently "flopping" on the surface and swordfish jumping.

(Hi Perry :-) )
