So, having originaly agreed to lift my boat into the water on Friday morning Yatlift have just remembered that its the end of Ramadan and they are shut from this Wednesday until Monday.
Having booked a flight out for Thursday months ago I face the prospect of sitting on the boat, in a boatyard, with a very disgruntled wife, for 3 days.:(
That will certainly end in disaster/divorce so I plan to hire a car (if the car hire isnt shut) and go out for a couple of day trips; this is where I hope that someone on the forum can offer some suggestions for good days out from Bodrum by car.
Help ...

Lunch at Akyaka at the head of the Gulf. One of the restaurants in the middle of an ice-cold river. Fabulous spot!

If you are at a loose end,you could stick a coat of antifouling on my boat! It 's beside the wall at the bottom end of the yard.

Ok just kidding..seriously though..there isn' t a lot around Bodrum of interest.you could take a day trip to Kos,but I'm sure that you have been there already.Or take the ferry over to Datca, again someplace you will have been to before, but could kill a day.
We had the same problem with the holiday 2years ago,and had to wait for 3 days to be launched,so spent the time sanding and re varnishing the flooring ,a job which we would not have done otherwise at the time.
This year we did check the holiday dates before we booked flights, you were a bit unlucky.hope you get sorted out.

If you do take the main road ( D550) there so that you will enjoy the view as you drop down off the plateau then take the coast road back through Oren, one of the most beautiful runs in Turkey. The river restaurants are well patronised by Turkish residents and visitors , and have a reputation for fish . I can recommend the Halil.

So,you are presumably now in the water. What did you do in the end? Don't suppose that you did my antifoul? ;)
