After five days cooped up in a classroom (many thanks to Simon Bradshaw who did a brilliant job training me on the theory BTW) I'm finally ready to put to sea.

We're doing the four day own boat training so if you see Dreamfinder on her travels around the Solent area, give us a wave!

Needless so sayi can't wait :)

End of day one. Now back in my berth looking like a lobster. Yes I have sun cream but it appears you have to actually apply it for it to work - hmmm.
A good day pottering up the hamble for lunch and over to Osborne bay for a spot of anchoring only to find the winch had seized due to lack of use - bugger. Back to shamrock the long way round bramble bank, up the revs and an overheat alarm on the port engine - double bugger. Limp home on one engine. Start the port engine for manoeuvring and the needle dropped as soon as the raw water started circulating.

Lovely day despite the hiccups. I've sorted the winch with the help of my mate Richard, a lot of swearing and wd40.

Now to check the impellers. More tomorrow with pics.
