Davits - how heavy / new ones

Any bright ideas about how to guage what weight you can hang from davits?


Failing that any other bright ideas about how you know what weight your transom will take if you stick new davits on board....

Re 1: The davits normally state max' load.

Re 2: Talk to manufacturer and if in doubt put a pad behind the mounting to spread the load.

Many thanks but:

1... can't find a maker name - may be Besenzoni but about 12 years old now and not holding out much hope


2... yes maker will tell me load for their Davits but I am much more concerned about the transom - yes backing plate will spread the load but for GRP of a..cm deep / b..cm wide / c..cm long can a calculation of maximum load be done??
