Ahem, I find myself using the forum with the dateslip feature on!

However, i would like to know some statistics regarding the number of daily posts and new threads, which i think has dropped.

Ahaaaah......

Kim I htink it would be even more interesting if you could give us the stats of those neysayers to date slip that have since turned it on ;-)
so we can e-stone them..

yada yada..

Eh?? Matt wrong...no surel not. Maybe you didnt have the benefit of hindsight on this one ;-)

Dom

I am boating again ;-)

It\'s Impossible

Headline News --- TCM is WRONG.

Dateline London.... Prices of used Motor Boats dropped by over 40% in the UK this morning as guru, raconteur and self-styled Med boater TCM confessed to being wrong.

The market's initial reaction was to ignore the release as fraudulent but later confirmation sent prices into freefall as a generation of sad BB boating punters looked to sell their boats on this inconceivable admission,

This paper had the opportunity to discuss this unforseen event with HLB, a resident of Upper Engerland who said :, 'I cann't believe it , TCM is never wrong, my whole raison d'etre is destroyed. I might as well go and sell my boat and buy shares , my life is ruined.'

...I wanna boat please..

I was not going to say anything....

.....but I also now have the dateslip on.

Oo, er, might get some stick for this admission of minor and thoroughly excuseable incorrectitude.

For sale, 1970 Triumph Spitfire-sold, 1947 Lambretta, 1922 Great grandmother, PM for details.

When I saw the heading "was I wrong perhaps?" I thought you had changed your mind.... but no, seems like you are gathering strength for a return attack!

The statistics you ask for prove nothing either way ...... and you know that.

I think I may go ***** banans if this subject raises its head again:)

Don\'t be so hard on yourself

I was also an opponent of dateslip. If nobody else was slipping then we would have had a more fresh threads and not lingered on old ones.

The problem is that now that most people are slipping some older threads are staying active which means that if you are a non slipper and a one pager like myself you are missing out on the fun.

Therefore I will commence my slipping trial forthwith.

Re: Don\'t be so hard on yourself

TCM, welcome to the flock my son, I knew you would come into the light eventually, hahahahaha!!!!

Sad thing is that anyone new to the board will have dateslip off by default, and unless they are a bit techy will not realise that the option exists. Result, they'll miss all the post replies going on for those of us that have threads brought to the top by recent posting.

Date slip should be default for all new users, if even an ardent opposer like yourself prefers it then it must make sense.

Oh well, so nearly prefect...

Ari.

Re: Don\'t be so hard on yourself

Can you turn it off then. Where 'bouts do you do that, or am I being blind and missing something.

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!

Re: ah but

You are right. In days of yore one had to pitch in and make some postings to liven it up a bit. Whereas now I am counter-posting rather than start a thread. Still missed this evening's punch up tho, dang.

Re: sense and jets

Yep, must admit, another dose of Gluddy with the jet drives is going to drive me bananas. Maybe he could just buy it. Like the rest of us. Quietly!!
