The S37 has a fantastic feature that is not nearly common enough - above my electronics and below my engine instuments is place to put a proper, paper chart.

The new sealines have a great dash, but for some reason lost the place to pupt a chart.

Unfortunately, where my plotter is you can only see it when sat.

I wanted a bigger plotter, and to be able to use it sitting or standing. The standard dash has loads of depth behind, I think to accomadate a CRT display when they did the original moulding.

Thus I did this - hope you find it interesting. I'm delighted with the result

not many "before" shots but you get the idea

note the radar is now integrated into the larger plotter instead of a separate screen, and I added AIS at the same time.
The ignition keys became the switches to the left of the steering wheel, powered by a master key switch that you wont find.

Ah good, keeping the forum tradition of buggering about with your dash alive and well I see.

Looks good Mark, and even better in the flesh. Nice well defined Radar picture you have there too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I need to decode this cryptic comment - the woodwork, painting and wiring I managed successfully but Jez had to set the gain on the radar before I threw it into the Itchen as I thought it was broken........
