Dartmouth / Salcombe chartering?

Hi All,

Anyone have any good resources for looking at charters in or around Dartmouth or Salcombe? Thought it would be a good opportunity to see how sick we get as a family on a yacht before booking courses. I see Devon sailing adventures have exactly what I want but id rather not do the extra hours drive if I can find something closer.

Not Dartmouth, but Flexisail have a Dufour at QAB, Plymouth I know they may be negotiable in chartering for a few days/week.

I’d start from Plymouth too. Neither river has a lot other than the river so starting there you may just sit for a week at anchor. Starting at Plymouth you have the option of both but also a few more anchorages closer to home if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

I should have updated, I did indeed book a charter in Plymouth, I dont really fancy rivers

Plymouth is a good base, however Newton Ferrers, Salcombe, Dartmouth and Fowey all rivers (someone will point out the error) but are good to visit.

Bonus, If you are coming down the A38, you would probably get to Plymouth in less time than Salcombe.

Alas I have booked a week in Stoke Flemming, so its still going to be an hours drive to plymouth on the A38
