All being well sea trials on Tues, then delivery trip from Newcastle to Ipswich Weds / Thurs, not sure where we may be stopping enroute.

HMS Trumpeter is the Cambridge (and UEA) University Royal Naval Unit (CURNU) patrol boat and is now in Ipswich Haven. This ship replaces HMS Raider which has been transferred to Plymouth for a mix of Sea Training and URNU roles.

Bristol and Cambridge have swapped ships. Raider being a batch 2 has merceded engines and is capable of better speed so Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) at Plymouth is using her in battle training scenarios during the week and Bristol URNU get her at weekends.

Trumpeter being a batch 1 has converted tank engines and will be overtaken by most planing hull Mobos - still as a navigation training platform she is fine for what we need.

We will be in the Orwell Sat & Sun with some of this academic years intake. Thier first attempts at pilotage
