Unbelievably every year in the Danish Feroe islands A slaughter of Calderon Dolphins occurs. It takes the form of a festival with hundreds of mostly young men killing the dolphins in a brutal fashion.

They don’t die instantly; they are cut 1, 2 or 3 times with thick hocks. And at that time the dolphins produce a grim cry that is extremely compatible with the cry of a new born child.

These are not some indigenous tribe struggling for survival but a "civilised " and affluent European Nation.

If you feel strongly about this then please sign the petition.http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/stop-the-calderon-dolphin-slaughter-in-denmark

What a gang of f****** savages! I didn't realise they culled dolphins. I hope my kids don't find out about this or the household will be in uproar.

Petition signed.

This is sickening!

I find it truly sickening in our modern world, and extremely upsetting. :(

'I suspect that emotive photos taken in an abattoir might be uncomfortable for some of those that eat beef. '

Only if people had to go out and slaughter their own cattle. Then people would change their eating habits. I know a girl who can't bear to touch raw chicken, is almost physically sick at the thought.

At age 16, I spent a day ,as a pupil Health Inspector at a Min. of Food abattoir, one team slaughtering lambs/sheep, up to 600 per day all "halal" style - very bloody! Didn't chnge my eating habits, but made me very aware of what was involved.

Even if they are, as they claim, killing them in the most humane way possible, which I doubt, at least some of those people will be enjoying doing that. Anybody who enjoys doing that should be culled (humanely) themselves, there's too many people on the planet anyway...

Dolphins sound better......

Exactly what I thought.

Googled for the "Calderon dolphin", it apparently only exists on websites devoted to the ending of the cull!

I get more annoyed by that type of manipulation of the facts than the actual culling.
There is a good case for ending the killing, why do they have to use "spin" to get it over?

Once I've found one piece of "untruth" I lose any belief in the rest of it.... carry on culling! (Cue Sid James and Barbara Windsor ;D)

No justification .......

Tommyrott, sorry don't agree, just rot!
Mass slaughter is not justified. Even at abatoirs the animal is killed individually so as not to cause distress to the others.
We should all live and let live. The creatures of the sea are fantastic, and none more so than the whales and dolphins. I am trully sadened and ashamed by other peoples actions and attitudes.

That wasn't my experience.

Agree they shouldn't feel the need to use spin, the rest of your post is cr*p...

I'm still looking for anywhere else that uses the name "Calderon Dolphin", if you can point somewhere out I'll agree that part was cr...p.

The rest was just my opinion, which might well be ****, but just as valid as yours.
