Danfoss BD35F Gas charge?

I think the gas charges for my Waeco fridge are as follows:
Danfoss BD35F compressor = 60g
VD-15Bav evaporator = 15g

Can anyone confirm this is correct & if not tell me what it should be?

Thanks,

John

Gas charge is calculated by the manufacturer as required for the whole system - Compressor - Vapour (not much weight), Condenser 1/2 liquid rest vapour, similar for evaporator, pipelines from condenser to capillary - liquid. I am not sure the weights you mention will have any relevance.

Assuming you are using R134a and that you can obtain some, you need accurate scales to weigh it in, or simply charge until the pipe leaving the evaporator back to the compressor is very cold but not frosty. Best to charge with the compressor running by admitting vapour (definitely not liquid) upstream of the compressor.

I can PM you some info, but the primary question is do you know where the original charge has gone - simply recharging a leaky system won't work for too long before it leaks away again, and in any EU Country is illegal.

Also if air has entered that has to be removed by deep evacuation first. Air left in will stop the thing working in short order.

Thanks Superheat6k.
The fridge seems to loose gas over time. It's still cooling but not as well as it should. The compressor runs for more time than I'd expect this time of year. It was last re gassed in Sardinia 2 years ago. Gas is R134a.
The Danfoss data sheet states max charge 300g but this seems a lot?
Thanks for the docs sent seperately- they give some background but not the specific answer I wanted.
I have an engineer coming tomorrow- my worry is that the system is overcharged and blows a seal. Is this likely?
