Hi,
I have a keel cooled BD35 on my boat. I have located the compressor and the attached controller in a box in a cockpit locker.
I installed this in 2004 and last week I have had my 3rd controller fail. They seem to fail after the unit has been switched off for a while. Last week I tried to start the fridge after it sitting unused all winter.
I suspect that the problem is a damp salty environment which these controllers can't cope with.
My question is this : Can I locate the control unit away from the compressor (inside the cabin where things are drier ) by making by making an extension wire for the 3 pin terminal ? or are there issues with the way the controller measures resistance ?
any help appreciated
cheers
Jeff
