Hi

I currently looking at buying a Colvic Victor that has aledgedly been fitted out by Dan Webb & Feasey of Maldon

An inter webby search show that they built classic wooden yachts but I can't find any reference to fitting out yachts such as Colvics (which were usually fitted out by yards and private individuals)

Anyone able to shine a little light on it?

Another question regarding Colvics - The one's that we've looked at all appear to follow the same basic layout with only a few very minor variations. Given that they were nearly all third party fit outs, would Colvic have supplied basic bulkhead plans etc for the shells?

Thanks

Colvic used to offer everything from bare hulls to complete boats, so plans would be available for interior bulkheads. However it would probably only have been the main bulkhead that was fixed to allow maximum flexibility for builders. Many old style yards such as Dan Webb tried to extend their business life by fitting out GRP hulls, but many only did one or two as they quickly realised that it was probably not a profitable business.

Can't comment specifically, but Dan Webb & Feasey yard had a good name in the late 80's and Early 90's when I started cruising.
