Half of Europe used to drive on the left (former Hapsburg Empire) until Herr Hitler went in and changed things about, followed shortly therafter by Uncle Jo Stalin.

No, just that I reckon that avoiding a change of side at a land frontier is probably a good idea, and accept that it was more practical for Sweden to change than for the rest of Europe.

We're just fortunate in having the Channel and the North Sea to keep the Continent isolated! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

In 1967 the only country you could drive to without using a boat was Norway. OK and Finland far north, but there is not much traffic there. Even today there is only one single bridge, so Sweden is quite a bit isolated as well. I don't really know why they changed sides actually, there was a referendum that said NO, but they did it anyway eventually.
