Since I was last on the boat at Easter my neighbour has left the mooring and occasional visitors have been put on the mooring. Today I noticed damage consisiting of multiple deep gouges running approx 1 metre along the hull under the rubbing strake. I have loads of fenders and the culprit must have had something protruding from their boat, or maybe it was a sailing boat and it's midship beam didn't have enough fenders. Either way I'm not happy.

Thing is, am I likely to have any recourse with the marina? Damage doesn't look enough to warrant an insurance claim.

Secondly, being in the SoF, is my only option for getting this repaired having the boat hauled ashore or are there repairers that will work from a rib or some other way?

Stantions from a lower sail boat in a swell .It rocked or both his and yours rolled his stantion tips dug in .
Yard job wait until next Easter ish .
I was down there last week and were Mobos either side .

So, after a week and a nudge to the Port, they have in essence said that because I didn't see it happen and I didn't tell the Port that it was happening, it has nothing to do with them. I'm quite speechless!

Med Marinas are a pain in the ass.

They are all 100% full and have the service ethic of a Cannes Restaurant!

They are untouchable. I have something different but similar at present. Marina approved contractor must do antifoul. The messed up the props ( painted of the barnacles) who want to know. No one. Make a fuss - frankly they will ask you to leave.

French attitude, that’s the worst thing about the CdA , it’s not the place it’s the Fr .
That Amlin based insurance policy iirc has a protected NCD for home port damage and no excess to pay as well .
If you are with one of these versions that seems a likely avenue to peruse ?

That's a good call L, Y have the same so I'll get them in the loop. I can't see it being expensive to sort out, but it's a worry that the Port take zero responsibility. However, I fear I may have to 'roll with it' rather than bust a blood vessel.

In fairness register the claim now and effect the repair ( polyester guy ) at the next lift out pre Easter ?
As the lift in / out , blocking off side may exceed the repair ?
Hopefully Y via Amlins will buy that at the first bite and save you a fight spoiling the summer .

Thankfully we can use who we like for repair and maintenance work. Also the marineros seem to be on the ball and make regular patrols*. The marina also request all berthholders to call the marina when returning so that they can send marineros to assist.

* Although I was mildly amused to see them doing some guardiannage (a marina service) the other week. They started the engines on the boat opposite me and left them idling long enough for me to clean and Semco the teak on my whole boat. They'd forgotten all about it and only switched the engines off after I'd flagged them down.

Would you really want to pay the excess on what will be a small claim and then have a claim history for evermore which might affect your premiums in the future? Dont know how extensive the damage is but if thats everything in the photo then thats a few hundred or a couple of thousand euros worth of repair the next time the boat is out of the water is what its going to cost and thats peanuts in big mobo terms. Every year I get the yard to inspect my hull for damage and there is usually always some nicks and scratches which I know I didnt cause but I just pay up for the repairs reasoning its just part of the huge cost of running a motorboat

Btw when you do get it repaired, make sure the yard uses the exact Ferretti gelcoat colour which as you know is an off white not a pure white otherwise the repairs will be visible. I've had yards repair damage to my previous Ferrettis and not properly matched the colour and I've made them do it again
