MBY quoted the case of a boat called "Arm and a Leg" some time ago, speculating about hilarious vhf exchanges along the lines of "Solent Coastguard; this is Arm and a Leg, over".

Glen Rosa's a funny name. It may be a boat to you, but it sounds like the name of a vessel full of Scotch to me. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

There was one charging down the western Solent completely crewless t'other week called SOLO. The single handed skipper had fallen overboard.

Heard a distress call last weekend from "DON'T PANIC". Radio exchanges were going something like Solent Coastguard, Don't Panic etc.

Apparently one of the top 10 boat names in the US is Wet Dream. Delightful...

Heard a couple of weeks ago on Ch 16: "Now Then, Now Then...". Made me chuckle.

Saw a boat in Poole a month or so ago - it was called " Our Souls" I'm almost sure it won't have a ship's radio licence!

Think some of the boats my way ought to be called "dunroamin" - I've never seen them move.
