My Grandad build target towing launches for the RAF in the 50's. I showed him your picture and he seems to think that it is a RAF launch (as appose to RN, who had a more 'whaleback' design) An whould have probably been around 75' with three engines (the ones built by my grandfather were rolls royce engines but others were used) It would also have had a large winch on the stern, and all accomodation under the fordeck. He worked in Falmouth (unfortunatly the yard is now a car park), and the launches came under the jurisdiction of the RAF Coastal Command, so it is possible that the RAF themselves will be able to help you, or possibly a millitary rechord archive like the Imperial War Museum.
