Quick question! What good is the Volvo Penta easy connect to the owner of the vessel.
I have recently repowered into this package and other then having the relatively shitty phone app, I don’t see any use to the easy connect.
You can’t log service! “Unless you’re an authorized service provider, the only useful option I wanted…
Someone provide me a differing opinion please.
 
No, I have had it on a D400 for about 4 years. It is as you say a relatively shitty phone app.. The one thing that is worse is the really shitty support from VP. I should say non existent support.
I have used 2 VP dealers in the past but neither instinctively recorded the service on the app. One of them had not read the workshop manual either until I pointed out they were assembling something incorrectly.
I always wonder if service in Sweden is as bad as the UK. The one thing it does do is move money from your pocket to VP.
I guess it's a Chinese company so things will only get worse than they are now if that is possible!
Find yourself a good independent engineer. That is what I have done.
 
Isn't the idea of Easyconnect also to allow you to link to your MFD and display engine info? (It's a question, not an answer as I'm not sure, but seem to recall someone mentioning it to me once).
 
Maybe if the MFD is Bluetooth capable. More like getting info to an I-pad. Maybe useful for a larger vessel. Not so much for a smaller vessel..
