My reg has died (frequent high voltage alarms) and I'm wondering if there are alternatives to Eclectic's £300 replacement which comes bundled with dump resistors which I already have. I need to charge 2 banks to which there is also solar input controlled by a separate reg.

Sorry, can’t suggest an alternative. But when mine died and melted a large screw type connector, it was replaced foc. It hadn’t had much use and I spent much effort trying to debug it. They use PWM to do the regulation but clearly there is an issue that isn’t too publicised, this one has survived last season and this season is ok so far.
If you find an alternative solution please let me know!

Thanks. Mine is a 2010 model (when I think about it that's older than the boat?!?) so I neither expected nor was offered a freebie replacement. 300 seems steep though considering I can get a more advanced MPPT solar controller for 1/3 of the price.

I have a similar setup. My wind gen is dc so it needs a charge controler with dump load.. I ended up buying this Leading Edge DL-300 12V Charge Controller as it just connects to the battery and bleeds off surplus when needed.
Not ideal as the solar with its own charge controler trys to charge the batterys whilst the dump load removes !
All the hybrid charge controlers doing solar and wind would be ideal but they all work with a ac input.

Thanks. Only 1 output though, I think.
