D4 300 Header tank

New D4 300 - The port engine header tank expels coolant when I open the filler cap to check the level. There is a higher expansion tank above the calorifer ( Targa 38) on port engine only, should I be checking coolant level on the expansion tank?

Yes, the higher tank is fitted as the coil in the tank is higher than the engine it needs this to allow the water to flow and not cause an airlock.
