So I guess this makes the D4 225Hp a bit redundant, seeing as the D3 is half the weight.

Does make you wonder how far they can push these engines. I don't suppose I should worry to much as the 2 years warranty will cover any issues, but it does raise the question of reliability in later life.

Blimey, 220hp from a 2.4litre diesel engine /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Thats v ambitious for an engine thats rated to 185hp in a Volvo car
Seems like Volvo are betting that the engine will be out of warranty and the boat on it's 2nd or 3rd owner before it expires. I would'nt want to buy a 5yr old boat with these engines fitted

Hmm the engine IMHO is not that good, sealine have been having all sort of probs with them, seizing up turbos is the main thing, leaking head gaskets etc, I know 4 valve heads and common rail is the only way to goto meet stringent EU emission targets but they can achieve this without blowing an engines brains out at very low hours, I am amazed as to why they do this, as mike finch says they wont last 5 years at this rate unlike the old 31/41 series that was a good engine till they put that stupid supercharger on .

So would I buy one, well I would have to research the market thoroughly before I did anything, if yanmar and merc made the bravo 3 leg better then I think thats where I would go.

I've put quite a few hours on three KAD32's with the stupid supercharger on, and nothing major has happened yet.
Apart from fiddly belts and pulleys, what else needs watching?
