Don't s'pose even Matt's got one as good as that, but who has got the best boaty reg plate on their car?

I've never managed a boaty one yet, but my back catalogue includes:-

H1 MDW

R 50NNY

M6TYN

So, which forumites got the best? Boaty or NB?

To paraphrase Lee Evans, I couldn't afford a personalised number plate, so I changed my boat's name to ZN 52 XBU.

I spend some of my time in a rather louche area of London (we have an office there, before everybody starts going fnaar, fnaar), with several, ahem, bookshops nearby. I recently saw a large Range Rover parked outside one of them, with the number plate B16GUN.

For Moboers, how about S71NKY?

as i've said before, one possible idea is to just get some fake plates, if you really want a swanky number plate, cos the fine for an illegal plate is far less than actually buying the number anyway.

Re: P4 TOM

Sadly not a Heffner publication...I was managing editor of Waterski International and Jet Skier magazines. Have thought about advertising the plate in The Lancet...there must be a urologist out there called Tom who's prepared to pay silly money for it.

Some of the best ones are those that must have been issued by Swansea in all innocence.

I remember a Merc with GOT10K, or GOT 1 OK

An MR2 with BAR 51X when they were a candy of choice.

But a neighbour had an XR2 with A 4 COF
