D1lc heater

Just acquired a eberspacher d1lc it works but shuts down after 5 minutes àny ideas on what's wrong have narrowed it down to ecu, rheostat or temprature sensor

Have the instructions for it ,bean looking on line for solutions. If it stops when it reaches cool it mey mean the thermostat in the unit works but dosnt reach temprature set by the rotary switch so down to 2 possibilities 1 cheep 1 expensive

The troubleshooting guide has component values; you could check the resistance of sensors to start with.

By 'works' is it really fired up and pumping hot air? Is this the 'compact' model with internal ecu.

If it really runs and then stops then checking the temp and flame sensor would be a good start.

Downloaded stuff from butlertecnic so reading through it all , it's the compact. One 2kw it may be a better option than a 5kw Chinese one going to test the sensor s tomorrow have ordered spares just in case ......mick

Update took the glow plug out and the mesh that surrounds it was coked up (black not white)replaced it with new still running after 20 minutes had to decode the burner while it was in bits well happy with the outcome the suggestions made me think it might be a cheep fix
