Thought you might like to see this. Pat Jones just emailed me this pic of our boat taken in 1952 at Saltaire. It shows Cygnus and the family of Dr. Brownlee (who commisioned the boat) on holiday. At the time Cygnus would have been about a year old. At this time her name would have been 'FLAXADIL' later 'ESCAPADE' and then she became 'CYGNUS VEDRAE' when Pat Jones bought her in 1967.

Just thought that some of you might like to see the pic. Stu

I am the daughter of Dr Brownlie and can remember the boat being built on the Thames. She taken up to York by road, and Dad had many happy hours on her.

I would to know what happened to her, as I've often wondered.

Hi Carol

I'm sorry I didn't see your post, apologies. I've PM'd you a few pics. I wondered how the boat got 'up north'. We've looked at various routes for a possible visit to London but it seems impossible without either a lorry or a trip around the coast, and to be honest, given her age, I'm not sure I'd fancy either.

Really good to hear from you, stay in touch as we'd like to know more.

Stu and Kath. :D
