Anyone have an idea of what might be done with whats left?
I know its way too early to speculate, just cant believe such an icon has almost gone

Apparently, 50% of the ship including the masts had been removed for refurbishment. The fire has damaged 80% of what wast left. Of most concern is the damage to the ships wrought iron framework.

Bloody shame. Perpetrators should be the first to be keel hauled when she's finished.

And also the security company. She had been surrounded by a continous security fence so should have been even more secure than she normally is.

A wooden vessel in the middle of a major city. Why on earth was there no automatic fire detection and extinguishing system aboard? Surely a sprinkler system should have been a priority?

No doubt we'll end up with a fibreglass replica laid up over the old ironwork.
