Does anybody have experience of cutting a memory foam/pocket sprung mattress to size to fit a forward berth in a 50' Mobo?

I guess anything is possible but I would like to know what I might be getting into before the chopping begins.

many thanks

Graham

I think the mattress cutting down bloke will be along shortly , not sure his mattress was from a 50' boat though

Buy some nichrome wire and make one of these:

You will need a way to regulate the voltage, there are plenty of motor speed controllers on eBay that will do it.

What's this James Bond once said:
"My dear - there are some things that just aren't done,
such as drinking Dom Pérignon '53
above a temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit."

Cut the foam with an electric carving knife. Cutting with a hot wire may produce very toxic fumes.

Dunno how you will deal with the pocket springing.

If you go to a Foam suplier you can get it cut to sise and shape if you have a patern or the old cusion.
You can get different thickness and grades of foam.
for a ocket spring matress i think you would have to special order.
