As it says in the title, that's what I need to replace the dodgy all-rubber item on my boat. All chandeliers coming to the same conclusion...you cant get one in that size. Looks like the current item is some bodged in Beneteau job.

Current plan is to fit a 1 1/2" OD version, with a custom machined brass sleeve to pack it out to the 1 7/8" I need for the housing, and get it pressed in hydraulically. Length is the standard 4".

Unless anyone has a better idea?

C&o Engineering ,Newton Abbott .What they dont know about Cutlass bearings aint worth knowing . Give them a ring on 01626 367782

If its all rubber it might be a Stuart (as in turner) bearing but I believe they are no longer available but try google

Just googled answers lake engineering offer Stuart bearings give Glen a ring

Will give those a try, thanks. "Chandeliers"... Don't you just love autocorrect on an iPad! Perhaps that's where I was going wrong!

Yes, sounds like an ST rubber bearing - as said available from Lake Engineering. Think you will find that it is 3 5/8" long rather than 4". You can take the bearing housing off and have it sleeved to take a standard diameter cutless, which is what I have done with mine. Obviously you have to shorten the cutless and from memory drill and tap the housing to take a locking grub screw.

We can do a water lubricated shaft bearing that size, in fact any size from 25 - 600. It won't be rubber but it may well last longer and run quieter.

My Jeanneau had an all rubber cutless bearing. I replaced with a new brass shelled standard size bearing that was slightly smaller than the housing and epoxied it in to place.

Thanks for the assistance all. Looks like it is an ST bearing, and quite right, it was shorter than 4" (I'd not measured it, just given it to the chandlers and said "one of these please!")

Lake Engineering have come up trumps.

I sourced a suitable off the shelf replacement for a Stewart Turner bearing from Countrose bearings a couple of years ago for just over £30.
