Having been to the Channel Islands a few times I always seam to have a few forms left over.

Anyone know what the correct procedure is ?

We usually head for Cherbourg but most of the time assuming comfortable conditions we divert for Guernsey.

question 1) do we need to fill out a form before we depart and what is it, where do you post it ?

We fill in a form on arrival in Guernsey but then on return to UK we have a triplicate form that we have to discard the top copy and file a duplicate as a return passage. I expect I am missing something ?

We then fly a q flag sometimes for 2-3 days if we are anchored before we can find a customs post box.

2) While at anchor can we land to BBQ on the beach/go to the pub without handing the form in ?

I like that question. It should be mandatory to include it in all polls. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Appears to be the most popular answer, by about 2/1. Mind you, If I'm anything to go by, I just read "haven't a clue" and my reflexes took over and pushed the button before I had a chance to read the rest of the sentence /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks whitefin, I didnt know that , at least one step in the right direction /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Any one of the 7 who posted they know what they are doing brave enough to post the correct procedure please for the rest who admitted they were unsure ?

Any forms you need for the Channel Islands will be handed to you on arrival.

The UK form is here

C1331 HMRC

Personally I never bother, as nobody seems to want to know when you get back to the UK.
