Well done to those who regularly update their charts. I find myself in the position of having a hotch potch of charts, some my own and some inherited with boat, some of which are superseded editions. wondering whether possible to find cumulative corrections for older charts. Passage after Easter will be relocation from Dartmouth to Kemps Quay (R.Itchen)

Imray C5 - corrected to June 2010 and have subsequent corrections to apply.
Imray C5 - corrected to may 2013 and as above
admiralty 2255 Portland and Weymouth approaches - corrected by kelvin Hughes to June 2013
admiralty SC2253 (2001) not corrected since (Dartmouth harbour)
Imray 2200 Solent portfolio - previous edition 2004-2008 - Imray website only has corrections to 2013 edition

Looks to me as if the last two are hopelessly out of date and would have to be replaced with the latest editions; the first 3 are correctable but whereas imray have list of corrections on their website this is not available for admiralty charts - i.e. need to buy disc or get corrected by agency?

I do have up to date electronic charts - Navionics on the phone and Blue chart on the as yet unfitted Garmin.
As boat will live on Solent for a while I do want up an up to date folio set - the easier updating with Imray leans me towards their new edition.

What does an admiralty chart cost nowadays? Might be worth while just getting new ones.
Its been a while since I used one.
Used to be weekly notices were published.
When there was a correction it would give notice and no for the previous correction. if one was missing it could be quite annoying going back through each one.
If memory serves there was an annual summary which would give a numerical list. so look up each annual summary.
Surprised they don't have it available on line.

You used to be able to subscribe to Notices to Mariners out here, and have them mailed to you regularly. Those were the days. I used to tick them off religiously as I entered each one in my Sailing Directions or updated charts. Then they started posting the Notices on-line (which was probably more effective and certainly more economical for them). But those Sailing Directions (for Victoria) were last published in 1970, so that system was economised right out of existence....

Chart agents here used to bring you old charts up to date for a fee. Is that the case in the UK?

Imray only provide corrections to their current editions. When a new edition comes out they remove the old corrections from their website, and there is also the unknown number of changes in the new edition itself.

You certainly can download corrections from the Admiralty site, though it's not as simple to navigate. I've just downloaded them for my Channel Islands leisure portfolio (the only Admiralty charts I have, the rest being Imray).
