I am looking around for oil filter and anodes for my lumps(QSC8.3) so far best deal for oil filters

Part number Oil Filter LF9009 3401544 is £25
Anodes £20

Is this a good price for original parts?

Yep I agree Peter is a good guy and very knows the marine products inside out.

£20 for a LF9009 is a super price. Going rate is around £26. Now the problem, big problem Fleetguard plant in France is on strike, which has been ongoing for some time so supplies are drying up. I do know that this is also causing problems for Volvo and IVECO

I would never normally suggest this, but if you have difficulty in getting genuine Fleetguard use only Baldwin as alternative, nothing else.

You need to be thinking more about fuel filters than lube filters, assume this is in the plan.

Zinc pricing also sounds good however AH Latham Marine http://www.zincsmart.com/index.htm are brilliant.
Cummins supply anode as a unit, threaded brass plug and screwed in anode. The brass plug is the expensive bit and is re-useable. AH Latham supply plug and anode separately. I would suggest you purchase new set of plugs and anodes, plus spare set of zinc anodes. Last time I purchased shipment from AH Latham came out at about £5 per anode alone, however zinc price has been volatile of late.

Good to see that you are doing your own servicing, your big bonus is that you are not bound by any manufactures straight jacket as to who services your motors in order to stay within terms of your warranty.
