Cummins Diamond series - Why Diamond?

Hi Guys

Further to the offer being accepted for a new boat - it has 2x cummins 6bta 330hp 'diamond series' engines in it.

What is it that makes them "diamond series" over the 'normal' 6bta engines?

Just curious - and finding out as much as I can prior to the surveys next Friday.

I think the Diamond moniker was given to the headline rating, at the time the 330 was the headline B, the 370 and 420 ratings came later.

Thanks for that... SBmar has been my go to reading for a while now - we previously were looking at a cummins powered boat also.

The power ratings were the only thing I could find that differentiated it.. I thought there must have been something else!
