Any branch of Travis Perkins Builders Merchants should either have it in stock or can get it in. I think I paid £11.50 inc VAT for the last batch.

I bought the version in an aerosol can as I thought it might be easier to apply..............haven't had to use it yet but bought it from Anderson Builders Merchants.

Can't remember how much I paid at the time but don't recall it seeming expensive.

Having had an account with TravisPerkins since before they were Sharpe and Fisher, I did ring them ( and several other local builders' merchants ) today. I got a gormless bint who didn't quite understand what 'sealant' was, not did she have the horse-sense to go ask one of the deeply experienced guys in that branch. No sense out of her.... therefore no sale. And no sale with the 3 or 4 others I tried.

All it would have taken was "I don't know. I'll find out. Gimme your number and I'll get back to you within half-an-hour...."

I'm thinking that if they want my business ( and it's rather more than a couple of tubes of sticky stuff ) they need to try a damn sight harder to understand their trade and their trade clients.

I am afraid this is what we have to put up with today. Tools and Adhesives is the place to get it. I am in Morlaix in Brittany and sent them an e-mail asking if they would send it to France no problem sir please give us your address and card details and we would be pleased to send it. 3 days later tubes arrived. And they wonder why we all use the net. As we come from Guernsey when we last went home we went into a cafe for a coffee we weer greeted with YES what do you want, we left without a word ito the next cafe all staffed by latvians Good morning and how can we help you today (big smile) request made and brough with another smile is there anything else you might like, no thanks and I left a tip.

OldBilbo,

I was once asked by a boss to phone up PC World ( of all places ) about a computer spare.

When a young lady answered the phone I said ' I wonder if you can help me - '

Before I could get any further she replied " No I can't ! " and hung up...

10 out of 10 for honesty I suppose.
