cruising the veersemeer

That's great - thanks. We will try and visit middleburg for drinks!

Does anyone else have any specific info on launching sites - I can't seem to find much with a Google Search!

There,s a marina at Polredijk which is just N.East of Veere not sure if they have a slip but would be surprised if they havent, they have a boat hoist .tel. 011811665 you may have to knock the 0 off and prefix 0031. marina called Jachtwerf Oostwatering . BV they may be on the web. Veere a lovely place. Dont forget the Veerse Meer can get very rough.

Hell this red wine and port I mean north west of Veere just up the coast about a mile. The tel .no. I gave you may be wrong as the chart is about 10yrs old but int.directory inquiries will know. There is a good marina at Veere but very full in summer not sure if they have slip but cant. remember seeing one.

"Oranjeplaat" on the Veerse meer, near Arnemuiden (SE of Veere, in the lowest bend), has a good slip, and good facilities. The slip is privately owned (warf) but prices are reasonable. The licence scheme from a few years ago fell through, so I don't suppose it will come back soon. Free 24hrs mooring on pontoons on the islets (no electricity, portacabin type toilet...), rubbish disposal. One island even has a letter box!
VERY crowded in July & August.
You can discern the slip on the lowest point of the marina:
Oranjeplaat

Try the Wolphaartsdijk marina - ever so helpful ever so freindly- ever so ever so laid back. They have to sit up to get horizontal.

Stopped there this summer but there's lots of marinas- launching places nearby and the islands are just the place to dream the day away,

I even did a scrub by shnorkel! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Great thanks. we are used to crane launching so if slips no good we can go for the hoist. the dinghy is sturdier than a wayfarer and relishes a good blow and is heavy enough to cut a reasonable sea, thanks for the advice.(yw 14ft dayboat)

There is a slipway on the way up to kamperland, (town opposite veere), also one in the ski centre recreatie centrum schotsman web page of schots..

a pair in wsv oostwatering just about a mile westwards from veere. (near life boat station.)

hope that helps.
dutch chart 1805 covers the area, major changes to the bouyage this (*06)spring, a major attack of bouyitis!

have fun as dutch zeeland waters are amongst the best.

my own take on the veerse meer
