starting to think about next years "big un" and swmbo wants northern france and the channel islands. starting from Salcombe and crossing to l'abervrac and ending up visiting relatives in Guernsey..

boat is a fin drawing 1.8m and we are a two person family crew. what would the forum recommend as stopping off places, both anchorages and marinas

I wouldn't want to miss Trebeurden. Nasty cross-tide in the marina: berth at slack water only (waiting pontoon for that purpose). Once in, toddle up to the seafood restaurant at the top of the marina. Absolutely fantastic place. Haven't been for a couple of years, but never forgotten it.

Lezardrieux next door is also very nice (for non-gastronomic reasons). Nice river and a good base for exploring Ile de Brehat. Anchor just about anywhere (expect in the no-anchoring area I found remarkably free from boats) and take a walk round the island - magical.

Less that 12 months to go...!

Lovely anchorage just off the landing slip on Ile de Batz. Was there 2 weeks ago and had our best French meal of our 4 month stay in the hotel/restaurant just at the top of the slip, the first one you get to.
