Cruising guides south from Fishguard to Solent

Got our planning down to Fishguard and realise that there is no planning substitute for a decent guide.
They are quite costly for planning longer passages and I have some problems trying understand when ordering blind just what geographical areas are covered not all of them offer even the bare ' from......to' information.
can anyone help with some recommendations. Obviously haveing different guides but in the same format/style is helpful.
