Does anyone know of any sites giving info on the best way to trim a cruising chute. I have had mine rigged for some time and despite playing a lot i feel there is more to give. We only use it when short handed as we use a spinnaker when crewed. Any references you could give would be much appreciated

One of the IPC magz did a feature on this a while back (6-12 months?) Maybe someone still has that issue.

All I can add, apart from common sense sheet trimming, is harden the tack downhaul as the wind moves forward, ease it - and if necessary a bit of halyard - as the wind goes broader. If you can be faffed, you can also set the tack to a lowish spinnaker pole when very broad.

Try steering for speed. Head up until the boat is either heeling too much or the apparent wind is near 90deg to the boat. Experiment to find a good angle. The increase in speed can be plenty to cover the extra distance. The helm and trimmer need to work together, you may want to sheet the main in a little too. Look for speed on the log, or better still VMG on the GPS. Try different luff settings as suggested above.
